single dhcp server issue with multiple scopes
Hi, I have structure like this we have one win2k3 server which runs DC ,DNS,Dhcp, but the Dhcp server has 45 scopes so we created super scope. And our network structure is like this we one core switch where we created 45 vlans and we have given ip helper address of our Dhcp server Users are mobile users they connect the network through wireless we have some 45 blocks for each block we enabled access points. But the thing is that once the user get the ip in one particular block it will work fine for that block,if the user moves to other block his ip dont renew or release ,then we have to manually delete his old ip from the dhcp server then only it takes the new ip on the basis of vlan. Thanks&RegardsSudhi

hi there,"Dhcp server has 45 scopes so we created super scope."the concept of super scope is pretty different , i did not understand your abovestatement , your dhcp server can have as many scopes but that doesnt mean you should create a super scope.Secondly how many relay servers have you configured ? sainath

Means we have created 45 scopes in the single dhcp server .We have single dhcp server and no relay servers. Sudhir
